Taiwan Changhua District Prosecutors Office commanded the 1th Investigation Unit, the Technology Crime Investigation Unit of Criminal Investigation Corps of Changhua County Police Department, and the Telecommunications Investigation Corps of the Criminal Investigation Bureau to crack down on the fraud group set up in Erlin Township that defrauded Chinese people in Taiwan, the United States and Canada by means of fake dating on October 21, 2020. A total of 23 suspects were arrested and 88 mobile phones, 1 desktop computer, 1 laptop, and monitors were seized.

The Changhua County Police Department (CHPD) reiterated its determination to fight crime and urged the public to hang up immediately after receiving unfamiliar messages or phone calls, keep calm and check carefully, and dial 165 for anti-fraud consultation to avoid being deceived. CHPD also encouraged people to provide police agencies information for investigation if they have found any suspicious fraud cases.
